Plies has a new “piece”; plus it’s HOVA’s birthday!

December 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Yall know Plies loves the hell out of his many “goon” pieces. Well, while browsing NecoleBitchie I saw a picture of his “new-new.” I’m a huge Plies fan and I must say, I wasn’t fond of the goon pieces. I think I like this one much better.

& in other news…..

Happy birthday Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.

I personally think he’s the greatest rapper alive since the greatest rapper died (that would be Pac of course). I can’t afford to gift him how he wants to be gifted but all I can offer is a simple “happy birthday. Many more & be blessed.” LOL…But in the spirit, groove with me to some of my favorite Jay Z songs.

*I really get in my feelings about Minority Report. I was affected directly by Katrina and this song does something to me. I think this is his BEST song ever!*

Okay, so we’ll stop there but just know that the list goes on and on, I promise! Happy birthday Hov!!

[ sweet stuff ] 4 things he wants in a wife

October 18, 2008 · 1 Comment

I thought this was common knowledge but apparently some are still not getting it.

Marriage Maker 1: (In)dependence:
Guys like all the things that can come with marriage – the companionship, the safety, a guarantee of having good sheets on the bed and good reasons to change them. But one of the things they fear the most: that they’re going to feel more constricted than David Blaine in an ice block.

While most men understand that being married doesn’t mean that they can play six nights a week like they did in their bachelor days, they also want to feel like they have the blessing, support, and encouragement to play golf with their pals every once in a while, to knock a few back at the sports bar when the big game is on, to still feel free even when they’ve willingly surrendered some independence.

Marriage Maker 2: Adoring, Yet Not Needy

Few things turn a guy on as much as a woman who makes her man feel like he’s the only guy for her. And few things turn off a guy as much as a woman who makes her man feel like he’s the only guy for her.

Right, both statements are the same, but hugely different. It all has to do with where the woman and man are coming from. If they’re equals, they’re not making undue claims on each other, and they can be an even stronger pair. If either one of them is weak and needy, however, that emotional burden can drag both partners down. So, throw your partner some compliments and some assurances, but don’t tell him the planets spin around him.

He knows they don’t, and will question your sanity if you say they do. Especially at the start of a relationship, it won’t hurt for him to know that you’re perfectly OK without him, thank you very much, but that it’s more fun when you’re together.

Marriage Maker 3: An Imaginative Mind

There’s a lot of press these days about men who worry about dating successful women, that they feel their masculinity is threatened if their women make more money or have more power. To that I say baloney (low-fat).

Men are very turned on by women who have big goals, big dreams, and big imaginations – whether they’re career-oriented or not. Because when a woman is driven, that means that she’s moving forward, and the whole family is, too.

Marriage Maker 4: Jekyll and Hyde

Not that we want our partners to flip-flop and pretend to be people they’re not, but there’s something intrinsically exciting about a partner who has the ability to be a sort of chameleon – a little fun and imaginative in bed, yet charming at a family reunion.

It’s the all-in-one woman who can equally pull off the roles of wife, mother, boss, friend, neighbor, vixen. That’s not asking too much, is it? After all, if a guy is going to commit for a lifetime, he’ll want his partner to be able to react to a lifetime’s worth of challenges and opportunities, right?

Show him you’ve got that going, and the relationship will last a long time (if he knows what’s good for him).

[ sweet stuff ] Dwele clears up the meaning behind “I’m Cheating”

October 15, 2008 · 1 Comment

“Oh yeah, most definitely,” the 30-year-old R&B vocalist says with a laugh. “I got a lot of hate mail, younowhamsayin, to my MySpace page, primarily from my female fans.”

Titled “I’m Cheatin,’” it’s the first single from his latest album, “Sketches of a Man.” It’s lyrics, like those of many songs that came before it, are being misinterpreted.

“The actual song is about me and my girlfriend,” he explains, “and it turns out that my girlfriend is very conservative, you know. She has a conservative personality. But she creates another personality for me when she actually lets her hair down a little bit and she turns into, you know, my freak in the sheets — for lack of a better term, younowhamsayin.”

Aside from me being totally and completely ANNOYED with how the interviewer put “younowwhamsayin” in the interview, I thank him (Dwele) for clearing that up. I love the song but for some reason, it wasn’t clicking all the way for me. I’ve caught the video a few times on VH1Soul and it still never really hit that he was saying “I’m cheating on my GIRL, girl, girl, girl with my GIRL“. Buuuut that was my blonde moment & I know I’m not the only one!

If you want to download the song, here’s a link for you: Dwele: I’m Cheatin’

Entertainers talk ECONOMY & WOMEN during panel discussion

October 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

BET recently announced on Friday that they plan to host 2 panel discussions next weekend at Clark Atlanta. The chosen topics are two that are perhaps the most interesting. The first will be called “Get Your Money Right” which will stress the importance of financial knowledge. The second will be called “Fly Girls Vote: Hip Hop Women for Change” which be focusing on the powerful voice that women hold in this election.

Assisting in these discussion are a diverse array of Hip-Hop artists and entrepreneurs, such as Ludacris, Russell Simmons, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Fat Joe, Yung Berg, Brian Michael-Cox, Monica, Gorilla Zoe, and 106 & Park’s Terrence and Rosci.

The panel will commence on Friday October 17 from 5:00-7:00PM.

The second session on Saturday October 18.

Running from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM and hosted by pioneer MC Lyte, the discussion will first frame the potential of today’s female Hip-Hoppers through the lens of history.

Models to be reviewed include Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, and more current examples in Shirley Chisholm, Sister Souljah, and Michelle Obama.

Confirmed so far for the growing panel list are cultural critic/journalist Michaela Angela Davis, Brown University professor of Africana Studies Tricia Rose, and activist Moya Bailey.

Also featured will be clips of the award-winning documentary Chisholm 72: Unbought and Unbossed, which details Shirley Chisholm’s historic 1972 bid to be the first black woman elected president.

Immediately following will be short Q&A session with director Shola Lynch and journalist Lola Ogunnaike.

Ecstatic about the valuable wealth of information being given, BET Networks Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Debra Lee marveled at the potential number of young lives that will be changed for the better.

“We’re so excited to bring the BET Hip-Hop Awards back to Atlanta for the third year in a row, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about partnering with these organizations for these timely and important panel discussions about financial literacy and the role women of color play in politics,” Lee explained. “BET Networks has always had a strong commitment to educating and empowering our audience, and these two forums will provide our audience with a unique and engaging opportunity to discuss and learn about two of the most critical issues of today.”

Both panels are free to the public and will precede the BET Hip-Hop Awards being held Saturday night October 18 at the Atlanta Civic Center.

This should be an interesting disucssion. I wish David Banner would make an appearance because he always has an interesting point of view on both topics. If you’re in the Atlanta area, make plans to attend. It could actually ..no WILL BE…enlightening.

[ sweet stuff ] Fabolous launches a new website & speaks on album with NeYo

October 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

One of my favorite rappers out speaks about his new website (which he announced on the red carpet at the VH1 Honors) and an album with NeYo.

“I have a website we just finished putting together called, “MyFabolousLife.Com” where you can find all kind of content of everything that I have going on”, Fabolous revealed. You’ll be able to go there and hear new music and everything else Fabolous related.”

Nothing official has been set in stone as of yet, but the Brooklyn lyricist did assert the project’s wheels are turning. “I mean we got it in the works”, Fab told BET.com Thursday night. “Neyo and I keep talking about it and I think we definitely have chemistry when it comes to making records, so I thought it was only right. I wanted to do one in the past with Lil Mo but being on separate labels we could never get it together because of the politics. But since me and Neyo reside on Def Jam, I think we can pull this one off.”

Other than that, you can always catch him on the mixtape circut. If I’m not mistaken, he has a fairly new one out. He also says that his album is slated to drop by February, 2009.

[ KamaSutra ]Foreplay & Afterplay

October 7, 2008 · 1 Comment

  • KamaSutra: A Sanskrit treatise setting forth rules for sensuous and sensual pleasure, love, and marriage in accordance with Hindu law.

Now that we all know what KamaSutra means, I wanted to share something with my lovely readers. I recently came across an article that threw out some interesting numbers pertaining to sexual arousal.

A full 85% of married men and 84% of single men find breasts the most potent arousal point followed by buttocks at 56 and 59% respectively. And this is uniform across all age groups from 18 all the way to the above 45s. Overall looks score 57% and oddly, very very oddly, 44% of the men find the waist a great turn on! Only 38% of married men find facial beauty an important arousal point as compared to the 47% figure for singles. Do men stop looking at their spouse after marriage or do others areas become more exciting after marriage? And hair, to which poets and writers in India have sung such paeans, scores a lowly 9th rank with 26% of the married men and 36% of the singles admitting its their most sexual arousal touch point.

I guess it’s not so hard to believe that most men find a woman who has a nice ass extremely attractive versus her having a stunning face. What shocks me is the percentage who find women extremely attractive due to their waist size. I find it shocking because a lot of men will sit and describe (to a tee) what they want their potential wife (or girlfriend) measurements to be so I knew for sure that was the number one arousal for me: a woman with a tiny waist, nice size rack and a big booty; all in that order.

But when it comes to women, the findings are more interesting and revealing. While 60% of all women consider overall looks as the most significant arousal point, the next highest score is that of eyes.48% of married women and 54% of single women find a man’s eyes the biggest turn on with the younger age group (18-24) much more alive to the charm of a man’s eyes than the elder brigade. So all ye men, keep those eyes wide open. Muscular physique, predictably, comes in at the next slot but followed surprisingly by buttocks with 42% of single women finding a man’s buttocks sexually exciting. The over-45 group doesn’t give a damn about a man’s waist, happy enough if the rest of him is reasonable.

I can’t say that that’s not shocking to me. I know, as a woman, that we want the total package. He has to have the looks but all of the other “extra” stuff lol.

But anyway, on to the art of KamaSutra Foreplay & Afterplay. I’m all for satisfying your mate and knowing exactly what it is he/she wants. I think once you have fully explored that avenue, your relationship will be so much stronger and your sex life will be amazing!

FOREPLAY

Kissing and use of hands are the most popular activities for sexual foreplay with well over 80% of the respondents indicating these as their favoured choice. Undressing each other and massaging follow with over 60% of the respondents using these two to get things under way. Disappointingly however, perusing erotic art together, doesn’t seem to be a very popular part of foreplay with barely 20% of the people watching pornographic films or looking at explicit pictures to turn the heat on.

AFTERPLAY

35% of the couples tend to hold each other while 22% kiss each other all over. However, in the over 36 age group, the second most popular after-sex activity is sleeping with over 25% of the respondents drifting off to sleep after sex. Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad is where in general more people go off to sleep after sex. In general of course, whopping 22% of married respondents indicate sleep as a favourite post sex activity as compared to the 6% figure for singles…..

A much higher percent of women rate holding their partner after sex as a favoured position though the figure drops for kissing post sex where only 13% women show their preference as compared to 18% of men. Kissing various parts of the body after sex is also far more popular among single respondents than their married counterparts.

In regards to foreplay, I’m all for watching a few porn movies and even looking at some explicit art. It helps give you ideas and the both of you are horny and hey, what more can you ask for? As for the afterplay, sometimes you’re just flat out tired but there’s nothing wrong with cuddling—MEN.

[ sweet stuff ] Lyfe: Will I Ever (official video)

October 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Truly one of the most slept on artists out. His latest single, Will I Ever is proof of that. This song speaks to so many people on so many levels. If you’ve ever been in a position where you felt like you weren’t ever gonna be happy or you were never gonna find love, you know exactly what he’s talking about.

Does it feel like ya
You’re never gonna find it
Does it feel like ya
Always one step behind it
Does it feel like ya
Out in this world alone ’cause you been lookin and prayin for love so long
Does it feel like ya
Wishing on a falling star
Does it feel like ya
Lonely and it breaks your heart
‘Cause it feels like ya
Ready to let down your guard
Finding somebdy’s just so hard

I think that verse alone describes how so many people feel. But if you haven’t heard the song, check the official ( featuring the beautiful Tocarra ) video out:

[ sweet stuff ]6 Sex Mistakes Men Man

October 5, 2008 · 4 Comments

I thought this was interesting to say the least partly becuase its the truth. A lot of men have the idea of intimacy all screwed up and thus, they leave their partners unhappy.

Written by Tristan Taormino and Lou Paget

  1.  You Know What She Wants.Men often make assumptions about what a woman wants based upon what they’ve done with other women. But women aren’t all the same.

“You develop a repertoire as you mature sexually, but you should never assume that what worked for the last person is going to work for this person,” Taormino says.

  2. You Have All She Needs.

Some women can’t have an orgasm with less than 3,000 rpm. No human tongue or fingers can generate that kind of vibration. But men typically think something is wrong if a woman needs a vibrator.

“If the only way that a woman can achieve orgasm is with a vibrator, she’s not broken,” Taormino says.

Think of a vibrator as your assistant, not your substitute. Many couples use vibrators together. “While you’re doing one thing, or two things, the vibrator can be doing something else,” Taormino says.

  3. Sex Feels the Same for Men and Women.

“When a man has intercourse with a woman, and his penis goes into her body, that sensation is so off the charts for most men, they cannot imagine that it isn’t feeling the same way for her,” Paget says. “It couldn’t be further from the truth.”

The inside of the vagina is probably less sensitive than the outer parts for most women. Also, deep thrusting may not feel so nice on the receiving end. If the penis is too long, “it feels like you’re getting punched in the stomach,” Paget says. “It makes you feel nauseous.”

  4. You Know Your Way Around a Woman’s Anatomy. Men also lack information about how to touch it and how sensitive it is, Taormino says.

A touch that’s bliss for one woman may feel like nothing special, or may even be painful for someone else. Some prefer indirect stimulation.

  5.  Wet = Turned On.

Guys sometimes get hung up if a woman doesn’t get slippery enough for easy penetration. Don’t worry about it.

“I think there’s a myth that if you’re turned on, you’re wet,” Taormino says. Not necessarily.

Some women tend to get wetter than others, and how much natural lubrication a woman has can change from day to day. It varies by the phase of her menstrual cycle, and it’s subject to influences like stress and medications.

  6. Silence Is Golden. partner has to guess what’s doing it for you and what isn’t.

If you’re respectful about it, a woman who wants to please you will probably appreciate some directions.

Thoughts, opinions? Courtsey of WebMD.
