*I love this joint. I think it’s single material. Plies really knows how to market himself and I think Ashanti was a good fit for the track. 5 stars!

Gorilla Zoe ft. Lil’ Wayne: Lost

*Not a fan of Lil’ Wayne (or Gorilla Zoe for that matter) but this song is hot. “Trapped in a maze therefore I am amazing.” Love that line!! This song is my anthem on days like this.

Plies has a new “piece”; plus it’s HOVA’s birthday!

Yall know Plies loves the hell out of his many “goon” pieces. Well, while browsing NecoleBitchie I saw a picture of his “new-new.” I’m a huge Plies fan and I must say, I wasn’t fond of the goon pieces. I think I like this one much better.

Happy birthday Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.

I personally think he’s the greatest rapper alive since the greatest rapper died (that would be Pac of course). I can’t afford to gift him how he wants to be gifted but all I can offer is a simple “happy birthday. Many more & be blessed.” LOL…But in the spirit, groove with me to some of my favorite Jay Z songs.

*I really get in my feelings about Minority Report. I was affected directly by Katrina and this song does something to me. I think this is his BEST song ever!*

99 Problems: McCain & Palin one?

So says Jay Z.

Without naming names, Jay dedicated “99 Problems” to John McCain and a certain “homegirl,” whom he described as “the one who says ‘You betcha.’ “

“I’m gonna get in trouble for this,” Jay laughed onstage, “but f— it, this is freedom of speech.”

TI also joined Jay on stage.

Jay-Z & DJ AM set to tour

 

will kick things off at the grand re-opening of the Hollywood Palladium tomorrow, where Jay-Z is scheduled to perform with a big band.

“He’s the greatest rapper in the world,” DJ AM told People. “This is the biggest thing that’s happened in my career.”

It’s good to see him back out, doing his thing.

getMONEY: Curtis Jackson & Shawn Carter

So when we’re talking business, I think it’s only right to refer to these two moguls by their govt. names.

As I was reading online, I saw that Fiddy knocked Jigga out of the number one spot on the Forbes Hip Hop Cash Kings list. According to Forbes, Jay fell to number two this year after being number one in 2007. They’re saying that Jay made just $82 million in the last 12 months whereas Fiddy made $150 million, $100 million after taxes.

A huge chunk of that ($100 million after taxes) came from the sale of 50’s stake in VitaminWater, but he also raked in millions from his G-Unit clothing line and record label, his movie projects, video games and sales of Curtis. He could be primed for a repeat next year as well, if his joint venture with South African mining billionaire Patrice Motsepe pans out and produces the expected 50 Cent-branded line of platinum bling.

You may not like this man but I mean really! Respect his grind; his business; his hustle.
