The Duggars welcome their 18th child & want more!

December 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I love children; they’re blessings to us all. But I’m just wondering when they’ll STOP. But still, congrats are in order for proud parents and 17 siblings.

An Arkansas woman has given birth to her 18th child.

Michelle Duggar delivered the baby girl by Caesarean section Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. The baby, named Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

“The ultimate Christmas gift from God,” said Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the 18 children. “She’s just absolutely beautiful, like her mom and her sisters.”

The Duggars now have 10 sons and eight daughters.

Jim Bob Duggar said Michelle started having contractions Wednesday night. She needed the C-section, her third, because the baby was lying sideways. Jim Bob said both baby and mother were doing well Thursday night.

“We both would love to have more,” he said.

You can catch their show “17 & Counting” (which has now been updated to 18) Monday nights on TLC.

DNA tests confrim body of Caylee Anthony

December 19, 2008 · 4 Comments

As I suspected all along.

This undated photo released by the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando,

ORLANDO, Fla. – Skeletal remains found in the woods are the Florida 3-year-old who has been missing since June, but they don’t reveal any clues about how she was killed, a county medical examiner said Friday. A utility worker stumbled upon the remains last week, less than a half-mile from where the girl lived. DNA tests confirm that the remains match Caylee Anthony’s genetic profile, said the medical examiner, Dr. Jan Garavaglia.

Caylee’s mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, was indicted in October on first-degree murder and other charges, even though no body was found.

I’m happy she’s been found and now she, along with searchers, can rest. It’s sad to think that a mother could harm her child.

Casey Anthony, mother of 3 year old Caylee Anthony

Casey Anthony, mother of 3 year old Caylee Anthony

I don’t know how many are familiar with this story so here’s a quick background. There was this little girl, a 3 year old named Caylee. She went missing and her mother (the above picture) was the last person to see her alive. She didn’t report her until the grandmother called the cops and it had been over a couple of weeks. The mom went through all of these stories about how she dropped her off at the nanny–a lady who doesn’t exist. Authorities have been searching for this child in July!

The skeletal remains of a small child were found Thursday in woods less than a half-mile from the Orlando home of a missing 3-year-old girl, but officials could not immediately say whether they belonged to the toddler.

A utility worker found the body in the outlying middle-class suburb about 9:30 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Solomons said. There was nothing that immediately indicated the remains belonged to Caylee Anthony, he said……

Since the story broke, I’ve never waivered on my thoughts that Casey Anthony killed little Caylee and dumped the body. I also think the grandparents, who probably didn’t know at first, now have a clear idea of what happened and are now afraid. I don’t want to pull the race card but let’s be honest. Had this been a black mother with her child missing, they would’ve found something to HOLD her on (not just pick her up) and slapped a murder charge on her once they found traces of a decomposing body in the trunk (as they did with Ms. Anthony). I just hope that it is her. That way it’ll bring closure to everyone involved.

To the FL police: PUT HER UNDER.
