If she’s perfecting it, I don’t know how much more perfect she can get.

Alicia Keys is releasing ‘The Super Edition’ of her hit album “As I Am”.

Featuring the popular unreleased song “Savior,” the Super Edition of “As I Am” ends up being a double disc package.

In addition to “Savior,” the audio disc features “Another Way To Die” (from the 2008 Bond film, Quantum of Solace) and ‘Doncha Know (sky is blue)’.

The second disc, a DVD, features five songs recorded in London earlier this year. Live versions of “You Don’t Know My Name,” “Superwoman,” “Teenage Love Affair,” If I Ain’t Got You,” and Keys’ hit single “No One” are all included.

“As I Am – The Super Edition” is due in stores and online retailers Nov. 25.

Alicia Keys: Fame can bring a lot of emptiness

August 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

‘Fame can bring a lot of emptiness,’ she admits. ‘I think about this a lot as I get older. You are so driven and focused on achieving this particular destination that you work 20 hours a day, you get four hours of sleep, you do all that for ten years straight and you keep on and on.

‘Then, all of a sudden, you think: “Oh, what is my life, honestly?” Yes, I’m a singer and, yes, I’m a songwriter and, yes, I perform, but what else is in my life? Do I have a family? Am I growing inside? Am I always too busy to see my mother and the people I love?

‘You have to numb yourself because you are away so long. You are around people, but they are not your family. You are in a different place every day, you don’t have any stability. You can get anything you want at any time  -  somebody will always get it for you.

‘When you are around people who never say no, anything goes. It can change you and that is not the type of person I want to be. People always want something from you  -  you become like a ghost of yourself or of the person you could be.’

Also, through recording her Unplugged album, her paternal grandmother died. Alicia said that she nursed her and was with her the night she passed. So you were wondering where she disappeared to after that? She revealed that she went to Egypt–alone–to reassess her life and get back in touch with Alicia.

I think that this is the story of so many artists in the business. They start losing touch with who they are as a person and often get consumed by this. I’m glad she saw hers early and took a step back to BREATHE.

She also speaks on her “relationship” with Kerry. To read more of the article, click here.
